A Touch of Elegance: the Classic Veil

To continue the theme of classic timeless wedding elegance... I'd like to unveil (no pun intended): wedding veils. The wedding veil has held many meanings (both religious & non-religious) throughout the centuries from protecting the bride from evil spirits to symbolizing virginity to representing the unity between Christ & Church.  In addition the lifting of the veil was considered an ancient ritual that symbolized the groom taking possession of his bride and her journey from a girl to a married women.  Although these rituals & beliefs have changed meaning in modern society, the bridal veil is still a beautiful tradition and accessory to the wedding dress. There are birdcage veils, short lace-trimmed veils, headbands, and even hats these-days; however, there's nothing more breathtaking and timeless than a long classic traditional wedding veil (especially in black & white photos).

Regardless of the decade or era, like the classic Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis...

... the long lace/tulle/silk wedding veil has remained a classic & timeless accessory.  Even these modern brides carry the same elegance & grace as history's iconic women.
